Omar Badri

Nolla Medical Advisor

Dr. Badri is a medical advisor at Nolla Health. He is a Mohs surgeon and physician-technologist based on Boston's North Shore. He studied economics at Arizona State before heading to Harvard Medical School, where he graduated with the Thayer Award for highest academic achievement and, while still a student, co-founded Medumo — a patient-education platform that went on to win the Massachusetts Health Challenge and was later acquired by Philips. He completed a combined residency in internal medicine and dermatology across Brigham & Women's, Mass General, and Boston Children's, followed by a Mohs surgery fellowship under Dr. Mary Maloney at UMass.

Alongside his clinical practice at Northeast Dermatology Associates, he has become a recognized voice on AI in dermatology. He is a co-author of the landmark 2024 Nature Medicine paper on deep-learning decision support for skin disease diagnosis across skin tones, and helped build the open-source Fitzpatrick 17k dataset that has become a reference point for researchers studying bias in dermatology AI. He has served as course director for Harvard Medical School's Value-Based Care course. He lives in the Boston area with his wife and daughter.
